This is a great laptop for people who use to travel. I am a college student, during the day I have to walk from class to class in different building, so I think this laptop is good for me. I bought and used this laptop for more than a month, and this is what I see so far.

Pros:
Lightweight, ultrathin, portable - I put this laptop inside my backpack to carry to school, it is very light and I could put more books with it, because it is also thin.
Screen quality - with LED backlit, the screen shows the great images and video quality.
System - Neo Dual Core 1.5Ghz is fast enough to do all the works, 4GB of RAM is a great thing to help this laptop to capble mutiple programs. It never been overheated.
Battery life - I think this laptop has great battery life, at ECO mode with lowest screen brightness + WIFI, it could be 6 hrs long. At balance mode, it could stays up to 4 hrs (only web browsing + Microsoft office) I bring it to school all day, and don't have to charge often. Plus, the power adapter is also small and light too.
Design - I think this is obvious, you could see in the pictures, very nice design and outlook.

Cons:
Sometimes the fan might be a little bit noisy, just little, but it always keeps the system to be cooled.
When I put it to sleep mode, and then I turn it back on, the screen doesn't start. I have to make it sleep again, and turn it on again, then it works. IDK if this happens to other people, but it happens to me sometime.

So far, I am satisfied with this laptop. I don't recommend this for video editors or 3D graphics artists, but I highly recommend this laptop for students to go to school, and anyone who usually have to run back an forth. This laptop helps me do a lot of works. For entertainment, it supports up to 720p video.

One more thing, to others, who complained about the sound quality, I have no problem with it, the speakers locate at the front bottom of the laptop. It is not too loud, but if you plug in the earphones, it ll be fine.

I've purchased many things, but have never bothered to write a review. However, my experiences with this laptop have prompted me to share my thoughts. No one things "Toshiba" when they go laptop shopping, so the feature set and price have probably lured you in. Indeed, on paper, this laptop is a good 'bang for the buck'. You get pretty good specs in a small, light-weight package. Whatever shortfalls this laptop has can be easily explained away by the relatively cheap price at which it is sold, and those shortfalls have been sufficiently covered by other reviewers, so I will avoid repeating the same content here.

I received this laptop in September of 2010. Since then, it has died 3 times. That's about once every 3 months. The issue seems to be hard drive failure. Since I have a 1 year warranty, I have been able to send this for repair (a multi-week process), each time getting back a 'working' laptop with all my data wiped. To add insult to injury, it keeps failing after about 3 months of operations, rinse and repeat. This past week was failure #3. The first failure was a nuisance, but can be forgiven. The second failure was hard to believe. This third failure is the embodiment of the word Absurd. But that's not the worst part. The worst part is the customer service. Instead of acknowledging that the product is defective and providing me with a refund or a replacement, Toshiba refuses to do so, effectively guaranteeing a non-repeat customer. Instead, they keep 'repairing' it at no benefit to me or them, as it keeps breaking just the same. After an experience like this I cannot foresee buying a Toshiba product ever again. Buyer beware.
